Beatrix Potter was born July 28, 1866.
Beatrix did not have contact with many children as she grew up, but she did have pets. She spent her early years drawing the many animals around her home, especially rabbits and squirrels.
Her knowledge of the cuddly little animals led her to the stories of Peter Rabbit. Have some fun with these activities like learning about the characters, sending a Puddle-duck ecard, or purchasing videos or DVDs.
